Has anyone installed the Ray Allen 1.2 inch position sensor on the linear flap motor? How did you reconcile the different travel distances? We’d appreciate pictures and description.

I've seen it done two ways, both based on the same principal. With an arm that pivots about a point somewhere along that arm it will move 1.2 inches from one limit to another. One pivot is the flap shaft that extends across the fuselage. For the arm you can use the flat metal plates that the flap linear actuator attaches to or add a small arm just for the position sensor. That is how Mike Sigman did his. See the (hopefully) attached pictures. Sorry they are so small.

The other pivot is the bolt that attaches the actuator to the seat member. The arm is the linear actuator itself (or an arm attached in parallel). That is how Ron Gesse did his. Ron has the old "open" style actuator. I believe he used rods and clevises from model aircraft. Two photos of Ron's setup attached.
