Hi guys, I'm back in the market and am looking at buying a 601ul. This particular plane has the 80hp Rotax in it. Is it required that there should be a electric boost pump in case the engine driven pump fails? It just has the header tank and no wing tanks. From what I can see it looks like the carbs are higher then most of the fuel tank volume. There is a fuel pressure gauge but the owner has said it has never worked. Would there be a gauge just for the engine driven pump?
Anyway, it seems to me that there would not be adequate gravity fuel flow if the mechanical pump failed......any thoughts?

Regards

<?xml:namespace prefix="v" /><?xml:namespace prefix="o" /><![endif]--> I'd see it as pretty chancy, to hope that if the engine driven pump quit, I still had the top half of the tank to get home on. The electric pump is sort of,...."better to have it and not need it, than to need it....well, you get the idea. The fuel pressure may not be enough to make the gauge register; I'd ask the owner how long he's held it in a full-power, steep climb, and then decide accordingly. Me? I'd put one in. (refer to above).

Hi Wayne,
Have you seen my latest ad? Yours for $22,000.00 and it has a electric boost pump and fuel pressure
gauge that works!
You know the a/c. I'm assuming you are over your problem. Back flying PIC again?
Dave
