I'm looking to fill a 2.25" hole in my panel with a useful instrument. One thing that comes to mind is a digital clock/timer of some sort. Anybody have any suggestions based on personal experience?
Thanks,

Deke,

I did the same, but don't have any ready suggestions. What prompts my note - good to hear your voice.

The perfect instrument is Flight Data Systems GT-50.  Multi function G meter, timer, clock etc etc.

I love it.

That is what I was looking to hear as it is the instrument I've been looking at, Clint. I just pulled an analog G-meter out, mostly because I was only using it to see how rotten my landings were. I plan to sell it and replace it with something more useful and the G-50 seems like the ideal thing, and will fit the hole.
Thanks,
Deke

Hola, Lowell. Long time... I'm doing my annual and I should be finished about the time the snow melts and my airstrip is dry enough to use. After being down much of the winter it will be nice to get back in the air.

Deke,
I too had that same problem when I had 2 failures of my Northstar fuel flow system. I yanked that gage out and said no more, this is too expensive !
I filled the hole ,I believe, with a MGL combo clock, timer,OAT gage. I looked at so many different gages I am not 100% sure it is MGL but if you are interested I will check.
Anyway it works, and was inexpensive. I wanted the OAT so I can see how hot it is here in FL. I didn't have a need for a "G" meter as I don't do acro with my plane. The timer is great for fuel planning ,etc. It's been in the plane almost a year now and works fine. (matches the other gages too)

How about an LRI (lift reserve indicator)?
It is easy to make, cheap, and more accurate as a stall indicator than an ASI.
Here is a link.
