John,
You're one of very few to have any success with VG's on a IV. Would you be interested in publishing exactly what you did so others could try it?

Thanks,

I have vG's on my Model IV Kitfox.  Tuff tested with aircam chase.  On wing, elevator. I have large elevator, gap seal, counter balance elevator.  I can trimm plane with full flaps for 65
mph, very little stick pressure.  Stall speed with VG's same as stall speed before with full flaps.

Hi Guys

I have had my vg's on for 3 plus years now. When I put them on I had the subaru motor and have since changed to the 912s. I know when I first put them on I went flying and took the numbers off my airspeed gauge. Nothing fancy or technical. I know I had close to 8 mph drop in stall and 2 or 3 mph increase in cruise. I bought 100 vg's for $100. They were just a light plastic with sticky tape. I mounted them as per instructions that came with them and have not moved them. have lost a couple of them since and will have to glue them down one day.
So in my experience they did work on my Fox IV speedster

The Harrison VG's are applied singly, not in pairs as sometimes seen, at a designed angle, alternating inboard and outboard on 3" centers and on a line 10% back from the leading edge using the positioning template provided with the package. 53 VG's went on each wing, though 50 would have worked evenly spaced in from each end. The VG's are a clear plastic about inch long and 3/8" high at the rear tapering to nothing at the front. As indicated in another response the double sided tape is temporary and cyanoacrilate instant glue is specifed for permanent installation. Removing the VG's from the tape is no easy task though, so it may be a while before the task is undertaken.

I ordered two sets in case I decide to install them on the horizontal stab but with gap seals getting the tail down has never been a problem.
