While making repairs on my Jaguar Cowl I noticed that the Air Exit Ramps have a shape unlike what I expected. Where the ramp sides attach to the lower cowl skin they are concave, that is they curve inward. See attached pictures.

Just curious as to why?

That's new one on me. There is no curve to the bottom. It sits flush with the cowling. It kind of looks like it was heated and deformed. Either that or trimmed when you removed it.
Neither the tooling or the finished exit ramp have a recess. Why did you remove them?
I can sell you a new set.

actually, from the second photo, it looks like you trimmed off the piece that goes with the cowling.

Nothing was removed or trimmed. I just laid the cowling inverted on a flat glass and noticed that it was not flat like expected. Could it be that it follows the contour of the outer skin where you raised it above the rest of the skin to cause a pressure decrease? That is what it looks like from here. Try laying a straight edge on yours. I bet you'll find the same thing. If not then my cowl really has a lot more defects than I thought.

BTW, the both pictures have some white structures in them that could be mistaken for cowling parts. They are actually part of the window I'm using for a flat work surface. Those structures are laying under the glass.

I did not remove the ramps or trim anything in the pictures. Nothing got hot and deformed either.

you've done something to it. It looks nothing like it did when it was delivered.

go to my web site and look at the cowling pics. All of the cowlings are the same. There are some pics of the cooling ramp.
You've done something. The pics you have are not how the cowling was sent.

The ramp on the other cowl half looks the same

Your mistaken. I did nothing to the ramps

Do like I suggested with a straight edge. I bet you'll find it just like mine
