Kitfoxers, Has anyone streched a mod 4 to accomadate a Lyc 0235 engine. I have seen the standard length fuselage with an 0235 on floats, but the battery was all the way in the tail. It would seem as with a Supercub and the streched Pipers running 0540's, that the mod 4 streched would be a natural. I seem to remember a website that belonged to someone who provided a streched Kitfox fuselage, but can't remember for sure. I guess the normal reply would be, "Why not just get a mod 5, 6, or 7?".

Airdale offers an extension (15") of the Avid airframe, I have never heard of a stretch for a Kitfox, though...
It could be an interesting mod, though.

AV8R, Thanks for info, Must have been Airdale that I saw previously. It sounds like an interesting mod to me, too. It would sure be easy enough to do in an original build.

I've got a IV-1200 going through a full rebuild right now, it's down to the bare tubing at the moment. Airdale is just 25 miles down the road from me.
However I do have a 912 for it so the weight and balance is okay. But still...

I think the Kitfox 4 is somewhat streched allready. My understanding is the early Kitfoxes were about the same dimentions as the Avids. My Kitfox 4 Classic 1200 measures 10' 2" from the rear wing attchment point to the rudder hinge. On my Avid MK IV, that dimention is
9' 5" or 9" less. That is with the tape pulled right over the top of the horizontal stabilizer on each plane. Take care,
