Pulsar Builders/Aviators,
Now that I have completed my band to hydraulic disc brake conversion, it is time to figure out how to reinstall the wheel pants. The hat for the disc that attached to the existing AZUSA wheel added a little length to the axle and the wheels position from the landing strut.
I would like some input. Should I reinstall the wheel pant with the disc INSIDE the wheel pant (requiring splitting the wheel pant and glassing in a strip to make the wheel pant wider) or with the disc OUTSIDE the wheel pant (cut away a relatively small portion of the wheel pant to clear the caliper and disc hat, then make longer offset aluminum mounting brackets).
Your thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Ron,
I modified the pants right from the start to accommodate the larger Matco brakes that were recommended. Didn't split them to make them wider, rather just added a new flared in section on the inside to cover the whole assembly. Built it up with foam to create the shape, moulded new fibreglass pieces ad riveted them in place then flared the whole assembly again. Never had any problems with brakes overheating, but then I don't use them excessively either.
I can send you some pictures if you would like.

I would leave the disk outside for cooling.
