I posted some photos of my hanger on the Kitfox download site (under OTHER )
and had a lot of enquiries re pricing etc. I have nothing to do with this
venture but thought I would just post the following details for anyone
interested (hope I'm not breaking any List rules) :
The hanger is manufactured by Funcamp Company owned by a gentleman by the
name of Bill St.Pierre in Barrie , Ontario. I have my plane parked at his
property (his brother flies a Lake Amhib) and convinced him to build me the
hanger as his company has been manufacturing large covered structures used
on campgrounds etc. He ahs since built a number of hangers for local Airpark
(Edenvale etc).
He has a website but nothing posted on the hangers as yet as he is still
putting this together.
Price is Canadian $16,500 (Includes wooden foundations and rebar etc that is
spiked into the ground to secure the wooden perimeter foundation.
Door opening is 36ft x 8ft and depth is 24ft (I can't remember the actual
width of the structure but it must be approx 32 ft. Frame is powder coated
steel and covering is a 1-yr warranted poly something. If you contact Bill
he will be happy to give you more info.
The one I am using has been up all winter and seen winds gusting 100 km and
it is amazing. It is also quite warm in winter and the high rake ceiling
ensures there is no snow build up. The roll up door is raised and lowered by
a single hand operated winch and it works fine in Winter and summer.

Larry, just go to www.sportflight.com then click on "uploads" and follow
prompts to "Other/Misc". Lots of Kitfox stuff in there that has been
accumulating for years.

Larry,
There are pictures of my "Ultimate Door" under "Gotta-haves". This is a 10'
by 36' door. I think they make kits for up to 14 by 48'.
If you want to spend more like $3000 than $13,000 this is a good way to go.

Randy,
On the main hangar(32'X42') I have a 11'X40' Ultimate door. I fabricated
the iron and used their plans and ended up w/ a really inexpensive door. I
added 43" on the back a year ago and think I would like to try some type of
"roll up". Haven't made up my mind yet. Thanx for the input. The "ultimate
Door" is certainly a fine product.

Building an "Ultimate Door" costs $3k? Why so much? I got a quote from Schweiss for a motorized bifold door at $3600.. Not as big a difference as I would have expected for a 'do it yourself' door. What am I missing?

I found that strange also, I put in a 45'X14' bifold door for $3500 a few
years ago.
