Well, my airplane’s had its first accident, a Controlled Flight into Terrain, where my left wing spar, clamp, block of wood and all, fell off of the wing cradle, and the leading edge at the root hit the workshop’s concrete floor.
I guess about 2 inches of the leading edge is flattened off somewhat. At least the flanges of the fuel tank’s leading edge rib that bent up are ones that don’t have rivets in them, so flattening them back down and adding more proseal should do the trick to fix that.
I’m glad Van’s included the leading edge templates in the box o’ goodies so I can reshape the leading edge as best I can and drive on. After 5 minutes of walking around outside cooling off, I figured to “just fix it,” to paraphrase Van’s personnel’s most-often quoted saying, and keep going. No sense wasting energy and time moping around thinking of the “perfect fix” (there is none, whatever you decide to do). Maybe it’s like when your brand new car gets its first major scratch; now it’s got character!
No pics. Don’t want it immortalized. Like I said, just deal with it and move on. Too much more building to do, and places like the wine country to see!

Have you consodere the "dent removal" guys? Best time to do it is now
since you have access to it from inside the wing.
