So sorry to hear about your RV8 situation, Matt! I bet that it is going to go quicker than the original bbuild though.

A 20-year Project
A 42-foot schooner isn't a big project for a ship-building company. It's a different matter if you're the one doing all the work. In the early 1990s, Dr. John Vardiman decided to build one from scratch. It took over 20 years to complete. What an great story of perseverance...

Ouch! Sorry to hear about your mishap, Matt.
I had put a new (more aggressive) Prop on my RV-6A and went flying.
Neglected to determine at altitude the effect of the prop on airspeed when
the throttle was closed. Found out on landing that it was a quite effective
airbrake when the throttle was pulled closed - lost airspeed quicker than I
thought possible, dropped out of the air from above 12 ft, managed to suck
the stick to my backbone and kept the nose up. Very hard landing on the
main gear, bounced felt the tail drag during the bounce, hit and bounced a
few more times. Noticed on taxi back to hangar that aircraft seemed to have
a tilt to the wings.
Found one wing tip approx 12" higher than the other.
Bent both main gear, stubbed the rudder (had to replace the bearings), but
fortunately that was the extent. No rebuild, just gear rod replacements.
Hopefully, your rebuild will proceed faster now that you don't have anything
knew to learn in building the 8 {:>)
Hope you are back in the air soonest.
