Hi Michel,
I’d suggest you get with the Gyrocopter (PRA)community to list your engine. They are still using the Subaru in large measure.
Airsoob would be another venue. I had a spare EA81 engine sold recently for a 601 project.
The economy might have more to do with it for now. Take your time and it will sell.
Good luck,
Larry McFarland 601HDS at macsmachine.com

Hello Group!

It seems that the times of the Soobs is over Wink... I did not receive a single sign of interest for my engines, parts, accessories, cowling and mount.... Soon (probably next weekend), I will disassemble that and bring the whole stuff to a metal recyling business... That would be a pretty bad ending for those engines...

include a second engine and many parts and manuals.

Hi Michael,

If you are just going to scrap it – would you be willing to ship to me?  I will not use the engine on the pane but I would like to tear it part and learn more about engines.  I would pay for freight if you could figure out a way to get it in a box or crate.

Hi Steve,
That would be a lot of trouble crating and sending all of this. My preference is to sell this at a minimal cost (a friend recently got 1500$). If I need to ship, I'll consider it but I will not do it for a donation. I will provide a LOT of stuff (two engines, almost complete FWF components, spare parts, books and manuals).

While responding to the list.... I don't want to fool anyone. If I decided to replace it with an aircraft engine it is because I think I will feel better behind an aircraft engine.

I had some issues with the Soob that I will share openly with anyone interested.

Michel

I totally understand.  Just thought I would ask.  I had an EA-81 on the 601HDS I built.  I sold that plane to a flying club in Australia.  They had an engine out over the bush due to a failure in the system that circulated water to cool the engine.  Fortunately the plane did a forced landing without incident and the pilot walked away without injury.  A person very familiar with engines said it was a design flaw and nothing I did wrong on the engine install.  This pleased me to my install but still caused grave concern as I never really did “understand” the engine.

This go around I am going with William Wynne’s Corvair conversion.

I hope all is well in your world.

One nice thing with Mr Whynne is that part of his selling process is to get you understand the engine.. Very different approach than the old Soob converters that used to sell this the same way as you would sell a certified aircraft engine.
