Doc,

Pedialyte???? Yes???? or No???? I’ve used it to rehydrate (recover) after some bad and losing bouts with the ethyl alcohol.

Pedialyte is iso-osmotic meaning it is equivalent in saline, water, and other the other electrolytes contained in the serum of our blood. The sugar content in it does not pull water out of the vascular system like that of some of the concentrated energy drinks. It was designed to be easily absorbed by the stressed infants GI tract due to viral or bacterial enteritis (diarrhea) or even vomiting.
I understand alcohol induced serum sickness all too well having suffered many bouts of it in my life. One would be better economically served to drink 8 0z. of water (plain old tap) after every couple of adult beverages to ward off the dreaded morning after dragon mouth with the gong ringing/throbbing in ones’ head from the osmotic dehydration induced by the alcohol.
