Hi all
Anything I should be mindful of when removing one or both doors for cooler flight in my Xtra?

Vic,
Just a guess but I suspect if flying with one door removed you will experience some yaw effects, could be more than you want. My Kolb only has a flip-over canopy so I can't say for certain.

My ASI is way off when I remove my doors. I would suggest you go up to a safe height and verify your indicated stall speed.

Do you have a static line connected also?

I have a static port in a tube right under the pitot tube but this gave a reading that was too high or too low, I can't remember. So I added a T connector which splits the static between inside the nosecone and the static tube. That is usually right on the money until I take my doors off.

if you can figure if the inside is higher or lower pressure than the static
probe....
if the static pressure is too high, you can put a small wahser just before
the static hole and decrease the static pressure.
if the static pressure is too low, you can put a small washer just behind
the static hole and increase the pressure,
moving the washer further forward or further back from the static opening,
will reduce the effect.,,,, or a smaller washer will reduce the effect.
