I purchased a 2006 Kolb Firestar with a 2006 503 ul  dcdi Rotax engine with only 80 hours TT,  It was in storage for a year without any fogging done to it.

I replaced the fuel pump ,gas lines , fuel filter and New plugs, proper gap, added fresh 91 octane gas. Replaced the 'main jets only' for my lower altitude.



Engine runs at higher rpms ok but when throttle is reduced engines dies out and stops. Idle jets seem to get continually plugged.



I would appreciate any ideas suggestions on how to solve this mystery

If you are truly having a jet obstruction issue:



Pop the carb bowls off and remove the idle jet. Then flush or drain some clean fuel through the system to remove and old debris. Clean the idle jet with a very small piece of clean wire. Just spraying carb cleaner through it won't do as good a job. If you continue to have an issue you may need to pull the carb and tear it down for a more thorough cleaning. Hopefully this will clean the system up a little and keep the small idle jet holes from clogging.
