John,
Very well done, great camera work with almost zero vibration. That was a big airport for a 701.
I liked the slow flight filming. It made me re-think my need for a fuel boost pump on my 750 project with the attitude you were at.

John,
Those were some really great videos shot's, and smoooooth as silk to boot. I liked everything, but God would I have loved to hear real airplane sounds, instead of music.
We don't usually see how hard the landing gear work's until it is shown in a video such as yours. I shudder to think what kind of pounding they take with rough, or off airport landings.
Fly safe

John,
I thoroughly enjoyed the videos. I also liked the big band era music playing. Especially in the 3rd video.

Very, very nice.
I usually don't like soundtracks in home movies, but you found the perfect songs for yours - in particular #3.
BTW, what is a "hot air gallon" (sic)? Two minutes into #2.
Cheers

It is pretty amazing what you can learn about your plane when you point a camera at it.

I was monitoring the fuel pressure during that. It stayed steady at 3.5pounds on the Dynon and went up to 6 when back in level flight. I had about 4 gallons in each tank at the time.
Also the Dynon gave up displaying the airspeed while that slow.

John,
The video looks spectacular on my 50" plasma TV. I felt like I was hanging off the struts!
Looks like a beautiful place to fly. I have been using a GoPro hero hd camera and have installed mounts
under the ends of each wing, near the tail tie down and one just aft of the main gear on the bottom.
All mounts allow the camera to point all directions. Landing gear shots are the best on landings.
The GoPro does MP4 H.264 compression and have found this a problem to edit. Converting to a different format
it balloons to huge size. Put it off to the side for now until I have time.
Your landings look similar to mine with the nose touching right after the mains, I've only had a couple landings
where I could hold the nose up high and keep it off for a while. Problem for me is that the slower I approach the
more the nose of the airplane is blocking my view. I'm comfortable at a 60 mph approach up to the runway for visibility.
This is a little fast and when starting the flare she can lift up a bit and then drop out on you. Like you said in your blog
about that sinking feeling, I've felt it quite a bit also you didn't flare too high but most likely a little fast.
Brian
