Hello all,

our 18 T lives in Southern Bavaria, a total of 10 at least in Germany, one in Austria.
We only do light aerobatics, max. 4 g, avoid loops.

Cheers

Helga and Vic

Antagonizing Mark is unnecessary and uncalled for and serves no purpose
other than to start a very lengthy argument on the list which most if
not all of us are not interested in. If this is what you want Bill,
then please take it off list.

Occurs to me that I haven't heard of many (any?) 18Ts in the US. There must be a couple, though.

One reason that there are fewer 18T’s than one might expect for such a fine plane is that they are difficult to ship in that the fuselage, with wings off is too wide for a container and so one has to make a special jig with the centre-section stub sticking out of the top of an open “high-top” container so all quite expensive!!

There are five 18T's in the San Diego area. Two are flying and Vladimir Yastremsky has three that are projects that are for sale.

Whoa. San Diego has had a lot of Yaks. My first 52 came from there, and I know there were several new ones imported at the same time mine was. I think that's also where Jill and Carl were before they were in Kingman, and Leon N. was there last time I knew.

Just like shipping a CJ6. Overland transportation is outrageously
expensive.

Eric,

You're right! In the San Diego area these days are:
5 18T's
3 50's
9 52's

In addition to the five I mentioned in my previous post, the US Civil Registry shows 14 Yakovlev 18T's (which includes the 2 flyers I mentioned)...plus 2 more registered as Yak 18T's. If the FAA list is correct, that would indicate that there are 19 in the USA.
