For those who don't have an iPad yet, here is another awesome solution that I have been looking into:

2 Big Benifits: COST, Full ADS-B capable WEATHER and TRAFFIC.
The system uses tablet PC's instead of the iPad which really provides a lot more versatility in terms of device size and features. They offer a complete package including a convertible tablet display pre-loaded with a year's subscription for $399. It me it is much easier to use than for-flight. And it ready for ADS-B inflight weather and Traffic (got to buy the UAT too).
They have free sample software to try out on your computer.
It is a great EFB and sectional moving map, ADS-B display, for $399 !!!

. I am also running Wing X trial and notice some differences:
Wing-X puts the airport identifier over the airports so you can spot airports when zoomed OUT which is great. However when zoomed IN, those identifiers are in the way. Wish one could turn them off and on as needed.
Wing-X has a touch feature within SUA which shows a description and controlling frequency. Foreflight, has SUA on their system if you show ALL in the "what's here" tap, and then lets you expand a SUA selection for more info. Sometimes the controlling frequency is listed and sometimes it is not. Don't know what is different but it had to be something to do with the data that Foreflight uses to drive their information screen. IFR fliers probably won't have this issue but MOA's seem to be everywhere these days.
I've originally thought Wing X split screen would be great, watch your progress on the map and have and IAP chart to direct your approach and not do the geo referencing on the approach plate. The split screen is pretty neat but if you want IAP charts shown it apparently must be one for your destination airport and not some interim stopping airport. I'm beginning to think that the split screen function is not a big deal.
Wing X maps load quicker and scroll quicker than Foreflight on my iPAD 2 but when zooming in, some clarity gets lost.
Wing X does not automatically move to the TCA maps like Foreflight will when zooming in on those airports (mainly class B airports) that have them.

I have an anti-glare screen protector. I departed CCB in SoCal IFR due to m
arine layer and landed about 7-hours later after one fuel stop in BGD Texas
around 4 PM local time. No issuses with visibility or heat. Only 0.1 actua
l IFR was without clear sky with no clouds.
IMHO=2C the iPad display is unusable in my airplane (RV-6=2C slider) withou
t an anti-glare screen protector.
It was 101 on the ramp at BGD and the iPad2 was still working. I intentiona
lly left it on the glare shield while the airplane was refueled and I tied
it down. It was overheated an inop. Into the air conditioned office to pay
my bill and use the restroom I went. I then turned the iPad2 on to check th
understorm activity to make sure that a hangar was not needed. The iPad2 wo
rked flawlessly.
The iPad 2 and ForeFlight was all I used for maps=2C charts=2C and books al
l the way to Southwestern PA (Pittsburgh=2C KVVS) and then to AirVenture 20
11 Oshkosh.

issue. My problem has been poor readibility in midday sun=2C and the Ipad (
orig)
gets so hot in the sun thru our canopies that it turns off. anyone else had
that
