Ilona and I intended to go there as well, but as far as I can see the
weather doesn't look too good. It is quite a distance and the entire
route is forecasted with rain every day with no substantial improvement
in a short term. Of course it can mean just a shower here and there in
an otherwise blue sky, but it could also mean low ceiling, low
visibility, and too many showers to escape them. And we can't afford at
this moment to get stuck somewhere as our regular care-takers for our
animals are on vacation.
So, if anyone in Denmark, South Sweden, has some more insight in what is
to be expected I would like to hear, but based on the info I have right
now it looks like we're going to have to cancel this trip.

Frans,
Just curious - what animals you have? We have
about 30 fishes in aquarium, a cat (a Swedish
transvetite, original male Maine Coon but
tranformed to female), five hens, three ducks and
two miniature parrots.
BTW - when the weather is so and so - our habit is
still to go. When doing so - you will find
yourselves from anywhere and that is usually fun.
The most important thing is just to move
somewhere - and take care of course...see you
somewhere...maybe in ESMB who knows...

We have 3 cats, about 10 chicken, and 6 horses. And of course many
autonomous animals like mice (despite the cats), owls, and probably a
lot of critters I even haven't heard off.
The cats are troublesome because if we leave then they start searching
for us (despite plenty of food), and if that doesn't succeed they try to
find another house. I guess they just want to sit on someone's lap.
The chicken can find food by themselves and don't seem to want to go
anywhere. They are easy.
The horses live outside on the pasture and are happy to take care of
themselves, but someone ought to keep an eye on them. We have two
stallions and if they escape they will create havoc. Sometimes the
horses wreck a fence and that could be bad.

Yes, usually it is our habit too. So far we always managed to visit the
places where we intended to go. But now we really want to be able to
return sunday afternoon, but (if we get there at all) we have to get
through quite a lot of bad weather.
Yesterday we had a lot of rain, more than I have seen in many years
before. It measured 80mm in just one evening, our house started leaking
everywhere (normally it doesn't). This crap is moving slowly to the
North East, just where we want to go, so we have to get through it, and
sunday (if we managed to succeed) we would have to get through it again.
If we don't make it, there is no alternative, no good weather to enjoy
anywhere in between. Just rain over the entire route. And it doesn't
look like we just have to wait one day for an improvement.
Flying should be fun, but this doesn't look funny at all.

I would love to go there (actually we bought Norwegian and Swedish maps
and are waiting for quite some time now to go in that direction) but it
just looks like it can't be done real soon.
