Thanks Lynn!

Great, great, great info...

Did you happen notice any better fuel economy with the new ignition system? I thought I saw on their site a claim of 10 to 15% better fuel economy which has raised my interest a bit in the unit.

For what it's worth, while I appreciate the automatic nature of the Bing Carb, I'm really looking forward to the finer control on the Rotec TBI.

Thanks!
Don

Lynn,

Sorry, one more question. Do you have a picture of the 'ramcharger' intake manifold?

Thanks!

Thanks, Don.

I can't really say for sure as to fuel economy, as I didn't have
absolute records of a before, and after the rebuild, comparison to
make any definitive statement. I can only say it *seems* like fuel
lasted longer after I installed the Electroair, but that is pure
guesswork on my part. When I really noticed the fuel savings was when
I installed the TBI...that's when I started to pay closer attention
to fuel numbers and kept better records. But with the kind of flying
I do, flight comparisons between today and yesterday and tomorrow are
going to be pretty scattered, given wind direction, strength, etc.

To answer the photos question, here are a few to view in case you
can't get into the Yahoo album area:

Speaking of "finer control".....I almost forgot to suggest that you
make some sort of mechanical device...I made a bellcrank....to
increase the effective length that the throttle control has to move
to make the throttle slide of the TBI move the 40 mm or so that it
moves from idle to wide open. With the suction acting on the back
side of the throttle slide, there is a good amount of pressure
required to make the throttle initially move. Plus there is the fact
that 40 mm of 1:1 mechanical action is a rather coarse way to try to
get fine rpm increments. My bellcrank turns this 40 mm of movement
(of the throttle slide) into about 3" of throttle control movement.
That makes the incremental rpm gains easier to "finesse". Of course,
I also use a vernier throttle for the fine touch, but the mechanical
advantage is better with a longer throw gained from either using a
bellcrank at the TBI, or a quadrant control in the cockpit.
