Hi,
I have a Westach Quad instrument with one EGT indicator for my Rotax 912 Speedster. I have 340 hours on it and my EGT indicator just seemed to quit working. I use a hose clamp type probe and was wondering if anyone else has had a failure with this? Do the probes go bad? I put a ohm meter on the probe and it shows a little resistance across it between the two leads. I also measured some voltage while heating up the end of the probe. I have continuity from the each lead to the 8 pin connector. Do the actual gauges go bad?

Hello, Same system, I just replaced my probe as it was reading erratically, new probe fixed the problem, be sure to get the short probe for your pipe size, mine had a spacer on it and I think that may have also contributed to the problem. Regards, Bob

Bob,
That sure makes sense since I didn't have a spacer on my probe. Maybe it bottomed out against the exhaust......I'll make a run over to Aircraft Spruce and see if they have a new probe in stock. Thanks!
