Does anyone know if the 447 and 503 have finally been discontinued? I noticed that BRP no longer lists them on their web site, i.e. at:
http://www.brp-powertrain.com/en/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-201/356_read-319/
you only see the 582 and the 912/914. Also some places like CPS don't have them listed in their engine sections anymore.
I know the 447 was on the chopping block, but I thought the 503 was going to stick around for a while.
Just trying to decide if I should just go ahead and sell my 2-stroke toolset and just make some other decisions about future planes, etc.
Thanks,
LS

The 503 was discontinued last year. According to Phil Lockwood, at a forum at Oshkosh, Rotax is committed to continuing to supply parts for all discontinued engines for 10 years after they go out of production.
The 447 went out of production some time ago - I'm not sure when.

Ok, thanks Arty. Well guess I'll have to go into mourning for a while then. I was thinking about a 503 powered plane for my next plane, but even with 10 years of parts support, that would cut it pretty close. My planned project would have still been a few years out before I could start on it.
Fortunately, tho, that means I get to keep my titan .
