Try irfanview it is free and fast for resizing and other tasks. It will do residing in batches to save you time.

Gary, if you're planning on blowing up the pics to make a billboard ..... these pics will work. 
The reason you had problems uploading them is they are 2.4 MB each (3008 X 2000 pixels)!!! Huge!
I re-sized your pic to 640 X 480 (58 KB attached) which would have been OK, easier for everybody to see, and any bug splatter and the scratches wouldn't show.
