So, cut off your nose to spite your face. Do what you want.
I tried posting the pics on TeamGrumman-List. It got bumped twice because I sent too many pictures.
The AuCountry Aviation Facebook page is an easy place to put a lot of pictures. Also, if you want to discuss something, everyone can comment. It isn't any different than Grumman Gang or TeamGrumman-list . . . except that I can add hundreds of pictures.
All you have to do is like the page and it will post to your page.

Why have a website or email list when there is facebook? Can't you post the photos to your website? If not why have it?

I bet your wbsite does not pose as much of a security risk as facebook does.

I can post pics on Facebook in about 30 seconds.
It takes considerably longer to create several web pages and their related links and then tie into all of the pages affected by those changes.
That's why.

Truly Gary, Facebook really sucks. I say that as someone who actually does use it. From a business perspective, I would highly encourage you to reconsider.

There are plenty of free software packages available that let you manage a traditional website, and are just as easy to use as Facebook.

With all my free time, I'll just jump on that right now.
I think the Tempest spark plugs suck and people still use them. I think the throttle quadrant on the AG5B sucks and some people like them.  I think it sucks that there was a crash at the Reno Air Races.
Seriously, I don't care if AOL, Yahoo, Facebook, or whatever sucks. I don't have time to create the perfect web interface that everyone likes all the time.

I agree that you cannot make everyone happy all the time

But, can you sell something marketed on facebook to those who don't use facebook?

When I need a product or service, I look for websites not on facebook.

I'm sure your choices work for you, but many do not use facebook and the like. Just something to consider.

I vote with $$$ , not by liking something on facebook. I can assure you that if it is only on facebook, it will never get my vote.

Thanks for the update.
Question: Other than buying things from Gene Palzak or LoPresti (who shamelessly hock their wares on GG), does anyone else go to GG to find something to buy?????  Or, if you're they're looking for something, do they just go to the websites of the product they want?
FWIW, Posting pictures on Facebook has absolutely nothing to do with my website.

Ah, that was the critical piece. From your previous posts it appeared as if you were moving away from a traditional website and replacing it with Facebook for your business.

A lot of people, and it seems even especially so for (ahem) more "experienced" folk, aren't into Facebook, and won't go through the trouble of creating an account to use it. I hate to mention it, but most of us pilots fall into that "experienced" category... Smile

No worries! Smile

Well, I learned your cowl STC was done and cowls were for sale from the GG (that was before I joined the teamgrumman list). Now I have one of your cowls at my A&P’s shop. I just need to schedule the install.  I don’t appreciate frequent hocking of wares, but do appreciate the occasional note about new stuff.

As a note, I won’t touch Facebook, and I just do without when it’s the only way to access certain content. I’m not going to badger anyone about it unless they want me to see what they’ve posted.
