Zenith Aircraft Builders and Would-be Builders:



I just got an email from Zenith Aircraft advertising

Corvair Day on Saturday, May 20th starting at 9AM.

I've encouraged many would-be builders to attend the

rudder workshop in the past because it's an

opportunity you should not miss.  Another opportunity

has presented itself that would be worth the trip to

ZAC's factory this weekend.  I would encourage those

who have not selected an engine and those considering

the Corvair to make the trip to Mexico, MO to see how

a Corvair engine can be mounted on a 601 or a 701

airframe.

All - I flew down from Seattle for this event and had a great time. Sebastien, Nicholas and Roger were great hosts and it was fun to see the factory demonstrators (thanks for the ride in the 701 Roger!). The new CNC machine is a beauty. I even picked up some parts for my 701 while I was there.



I enjoyed meeting William, Grace Ellen, Bill and Mark and listening to William talk about his passion for the Corvair powerplant. While he has taken some lumps for being the "Authority", I found him to be very engaging in person and highly committed to making aviation accessible to people of decent mechanical skills and a willingness to listen and take advantage of his experience and the hard work he's put into making the Corvair a viable option. 



For those of you who haven't met him, make the effort. He may be the "Authority", but he's a man dedicated to getting more of us safely flying. A warm greeting, a firm handshake and an engaged conversation will let you know where he really stands. He and his Hangar Gang are the kind of people I want to be around.

Corvair day at the factory was great.  I took most of my core with me

for William to inspect.  I was worried about my heads but I got the

I live in NW Arkansas and need to get in touch with the other Corvair

builders in my area.  I was amazed at how far people traveled to be

there.  It was a great event with great people.  I look forward to

working more with them in the future.
