HELP ! !
I was hoping to fly to the UK this weekend but I cannot find the required info & mail address to send my "Application" to.
Does anyone have an idea where I can find it.
It used to be called "Airworthiness notice 52" but the CAA site is such a disaster I can't find it again.
Bl...y Burocrats are going to mess up my weekend again.

Thanks Alan.
Unfortunately the link for homebuilt aircraft leads to a list of deleted & replaced orders which indicate that notice 52 is incorporated in CAP 747 but I cannot find any mention of a homebuilt concession in CAP 747.
Perhaps they just forgot us ! !
However I don't like the idea of having to trailer the plane over the channel from Lydd if it really is still valid.
Any ideas are welcome

I guess the last few lines of the document refereed to by Alan Burrill is all you should need to know , possibly :<)

If your aircraft is homebuilt, you do not need to apply to us for an Exemption. Please see Airworthiness Notice 52 for more information."
The link points to some list of cancelled or moved documents but the first sentence seems pretty definitive to me.

WOPPEE!!
I found it - page 441 - 444 of CAP 747.
The LAA really needs to take this up with the CAA befor other states start a tit for tat which will put pay to your European jaunts.

The Document is here: http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/CAP747.pdf
An the bit you need is in Appendix 1 and is referenced as Section 2, Part 4, GC No. 6 Page 1 and onwards.
It includes the form and the email address to send the details required.
May be a bit late for this weekend now as I don't think they will respond over a weekend.

Thanks for your support Alan,
The system is such that there is an automatic reply which you have to carry with you. It was no problem and I had a superb flight to Cardiff direct from EDLM. Nobody wanted to see it, or even my passport for that matter!
On the way back yesterday we met up with Dave Bosomworth in the air over Goodwood as he had heared us on Solent Radar frequency.

Barry, Just returned from Germany & Czech to find this correspondence. I am
sorry that the UK is almost as difficult as Belgium about home builts, but
at least they don't charge 80 euros for permission!! Since last year the
situation is that you are required to send CAA information on the attached
document by email (address on the document) and get acknowledgement and then
bring Permit, Insurance, & registration documents with you along with a copy
of the CAA acknowledgement document. You are only allowed to stay in UK with
the plane for a maximum of 28 days on any one visit
I will get this info and document onto the Europa Guide to Flying
in Europe, which is on the Europa Club website.

What is the problem with Belgium?
I have been in and out of there often and always overfly without any problem.

Barry, Yes we had a fine trip (Dresden/Prague/Jena) except that homeward
journey on Weds was in the face of strong head winds (max 47kts!!) all the
way with 28kts, gusting 38kts on landing in UK, fortunately only 20 degrees
off runway heading. Belgium requires prior permission for homebuilts and
charges 80+ euros for looking at your papers. Certainly loads of planes fly
from UK along Belgian coastline to Holland and haven't got shot down, but if
involved in an incident there is scope for them to get nasty with you.
I am in the middle of complaining to the Belgian government and
EASA about it, having refused to pay, and in the hope of bringing them into
line with the rest of Europe. Have you seen the Guide to Flying in Europe
which details which countries demand PPR- copy attached?
