Where can I get a set of door hinges for the KIS-4? The hinge pin on my copilot door sheared off. Since I will have to replace it, I might as well replace both of them. Were the original ones made up by Lyle Hendricks?

I could use a set too. The passenger side door bumps the top when fully open so I need to drill the holes in the hinge in a different location.

Well that means we need at least 4 hinges. Maybe was can get some machine company (Like Hendricks) to make a batch of them. The more we have made up the better the price will be. Plus, it will provide us a place we can get more if we need them in the future.

I contacted Lyle Hendricks to see if he made the original hinges. I sent him a detailed drawing with dimensions and photos of my broken hinge. He will check and see if he has the setup needed to make a production run. If not, he can still do it but at a higher cost. He also said that the bigger the production run the lower the individual cost will be and that the minimum run is 8 units. He estimates that for 8 units the cost will be about $40.00 for each hinge. He also said he can have them made up in about 2weeks.
If you want new hinges let me know so I can try to convince him to make a production run and maybe get a lower price per hinge.

Galin,
I solved my problem using the original hinges so I wont need new ones. You might be able to bring a hinge to a local machine shop to make a pair at less cost. Also, if you can get away with just one side of the hinge new it would further reduce costs.
