I was sworn to secrecy, but it looks like CPS has made an official announcement. This may be interesting for a while.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear CPS Customers;

As of November 4, 2011 California Power Systems has been sold to Aircraft Spruce & Specialty Co. of Corona, CA. who will become the West Coast Rotax Service Center, an exclusive relationship that CPS has held since 1984.

We would like to thank the thousands of customers around the world that have made CPS their choice for Light Sport and Ultralight parts and service.

Every effort will be made to track and fulfill all orders placed with CPS thru Thursday, November 3, 2011.

Sincerely Yours,

Mike Stratman

CPS President

Yeah...open wide your wallets.

Ask not for who will pay for that purchase, it shall be you, the consumer!

CPS has done a fantastic job over the years. If anyone has seen their catalog, it speaks for itself. I hope the guy made a fortune. He deserves it.

Prices on Rotax parts are controlled by Rotax and won't change. Rotax has very tight controls on what a distributor can do so it really shouldn't change. They will have to offer service and classes along with Rotax parts. The other items may be cheaper because of the size of the organization. I would wait and make any judgments until later. Stock may be better due to better money supply.

I see this as a plus. Frequently, I need to buy Rotax parts and at the same time, other parts usually sold only by Aircraft Spruce or Wicks and their ilk. Having access to full line of Rotax parts from Aircraft Spruce will save multiple shipping charges and I expect the Georgia ACS warehouse will eventually stock Rotax parts too which will be great for us in the eastern US.

Well at least you will get the stuff you ordered from Spruce ! Spruce has been GREAT delivering the items you order AND very helpful !. The few items I have ordered from CPS took forever to get here (like weeks) and I received little help when I called about it.(forcing me to order from Lockwood or LEAF to get better service on my next orders) Granted their catalog was great but then no one can beat Spruce's.
I for one am glad to see the change.
