I agree with you.  I was speaking about the threaded components.  It 

is on the threads that I use the thread compound.  Alas, AN fittings 

describes a huge selection of different items.

sorry, my mistake. I thought, y'all were talking abaout the flange fittings.

On the threaed AN fittings I fully agree with you: the compound is the right

stuff to use.
