My wife and I are moving to the Columbia, SC area in July and would like to buy a house near an airport or grass strip. Does anyone have any suggestions or leads? We would prefer to live on the northwest side of town. We've already been looking at Whiteplains Plantation, but it looks like prices in that residential airpark have soared in the last few years.

Yes prices have gone up over time at Whiteplains. Probably in part due to
the fact that it is almost full now.
There is no (known) airpark on the NW (Lake area) part of town. I live in
that area an wish there was one. 
Whiteplains is the closest airpark. There is one to the south called
"Do-Little Field". It is a grass strip and is a bit farther away.
