Subject: Solid fuel lines
Hi Guys,
Can anyone who switched out the ZAC supplied rubber fuel lines with solid
line offer any advice and guidance on doing this?
I am thinking about running solid lines from my wings to fuel selector valve
Valve to Gascolator
Gascolator to engine.
Suggestions on what products to purchase (Especially connectors!!!) size of
lines and tips on how to properly flare ends/make connections or whatever
else I might need to do would be greatly appreciated.
Any photos are of course always a super bonus.
thanks,

I used 3/8" O.D. 3003 aluminum tube with AN flare fittings from the
tank to the
fuel valve because I didn't want to have to remove the wings to
replace rubber
lines sometime in the future. The rest of my lines are the supplied flexible
hose. I did not have a 37 flaring tool for the fittings so I used a standard
45 flaring tool to partially flare the tube and tightened the fitting down to
finish the flare. The 3003 tubing is soft enough to make this work and I have
had no trouble with them in six years and 360 hours.
You should use some kind of flexible hose for the segment between the
airframe
and engine, otherwise the vibration of the engine in its mounts will
likely cause
a solid tube to fail.

Jabiru USA is building a new web site with more info on firewall forward
kits. We would love to post photos of your Jabiru engine and FWF kit
installation in Zenith aircraft!
Send photos and a brief story if you like to katie(at)usjabiru.com then look
for them in a few weeks at www.usjabiru.com

Steve,
I did the same as Bryan and ran 3/8 tube from the tanks to the fuel
selector. I also ran it to the fuel pumps on the firewall. Check out
http://zodiac.cpc-world.com/images/IMG_0106_JPG.jpg.
http://zodiac.cpc-world.com/images/IMG_1315_JPG.jpg shows the fuel selector
end. You can see I mounted a coupling to the center section so I don't have
to remove the center console sides if I have to remove the wings for any
reason.
Not many other photos I'm afraid. All the fittings are AN and I used a
flexible line from the fuel pumps to the carby. Don't use a solid line there
otherwise you will experience cracking due to the engine vibration.
Follow Bryans advice regarding the tube ends. It the same method as I
followed!
Have fun

Subject: Matronics Web Services Restored!
Dear Listers,
I'm extremely happy to report that as of about 9pm PST 12/7, all of
the Matronics
web services have been fully restored including the Web Forums, List Browse,
Archive Search, Wiki, and AeroElectric web sites. It was quite an
ordeal getting
the replacement boards for the server, but things went back together tonight
and are up and running nicely. The first company I ordered the boards from
originally called me a day later to say that, whoops, they really didn't have
them in stock after all... Fortunately, I was able to locate some through
a different source and had then over-nighted and they arrived today.
Thank you for your patience and consideration though the whole thing!
The List Contribution web site is also back on line for those wishing
to make a
donation to the effort:

Best regards,
Matt Dralle
