Hello All.
Today flying my KF Vixen 912UL I developed a radio transmit noise. As soon as I pressed the PTT (on either stick) there is a solid sharp buzzing sound in the headsets. almost like something is shorting out. Other a/c and the tower could understand the transmission OK but the tower said it sounded "hollow, like I was talking from inside a can". This is a very recent development. The radio is a 18 month old ICOM A210.
I will start checking things on my own but just wondering if I could tap into this wealth of knowledge before I start buggering things up.
I was using the built in intercom. Forgot to try with it disabled.
Have a great News Years everyone. Drive a FLY safe!
Cheers

Easy stuff is to make sure the other headset isn't plugged in (if
there's no head in the headset), and as you mentioned, go direct into
the radio, bypassing the intercom. Most intercoms can be taken out of
the circuit by just turning them off.
Make sure that your volume & gain settings haven't changed, also.
