Pulsar Fans,
I was about to replace a worn hinge on my right aileron on the Pulsar, because replacing the pin with a new one, there still was some undesirable play in the hinge.
Then a good friend of mine, who built and flies a Lancair 360 gave me a 3/32" stainless steel welding rod. The rod is 5 thousandths larger diameter than a new conventional piano hinge pin. It slide in with minimal effort, just like it was meant to be and the play in the hinge is virtually gone (for now; wear is an inescapable reality). It sure beats the work I was anticipating to replace the hinge itself. Eventually the hinge itself will need replacing.
Best regards,
Ronko
