I currently have RG 58 coax connecting my radio to the antenna. Picking up a lot of engine noise though. Would like to switch over to RG 400. But I see that RG 400 coax has BNC 400 connectors. Will the BNC 400 female connector fit on to a BNC 58 male connector?

It is doubtful that a change of coax will fix
any noise problem.

Yes, "BNC" is the designation for a series
of connectors that will mate with each other
irrespective of the style of coax in the
connector.
