Many Moons ago when I installed my tailplane repair, it took 6 months of waiting on my local FSDO to approve my Phase II certification. Poor design or not, I was glad to get the issue behind me.

The final FAA inspection was a real classic; the morning was so foggy we could not see my airplane sitting just outside the hanger door. Rather than walk out into that cold fog, the inspectors looked at my paperwork and DER diagram. Signed it off and then went to lunch. Just another day out in the "field", serving the public.
