I know this subject has been commented on before, but here is my situation. My 912 UL has 504 hours and has begun to diesel on shutdown. I have never had this problem since I have had the engine. Bought it new in 2007. It starts fine, runs fine and idles fine. Shut down is at 1800 rpm. It just does not want to stop rotation. It does not rotate backwards, it just seems to want to continue to run after I kill both ignition circuits. I have checked and changed the plugs without any change. However, I have noticed that when I do a “mag check” at 4000 rpm I only see a very slight drop, (< 100 rpm) if any on the tac. I used to see 100 to 150 rpm drop. Could I have a “Hot” circuit and not know it? How can I check the ignition circuits? I am going to change fuel also and see if that may be the problem. The temperature here in NC is now in the 80s (degrees F), and I am running 87 MOGAS (with 10 % ethanol) currently, but will switch to 93 MOGAS (no ethanol) to see if that makes a difference. Has anyone else experienced this? Dick Maddux, I know you had a problem some what like this, but don’t remember what solved your issue.

Hugh,
I would imagine you could use an ohmmeter to check your "P" leads to make sure they are working properly at the switch (ie: grounding out)
In my case I solved the dieseling by removing my 'heavy" Warp prop and going to the lighter Kiev. It hasn't diseled once since then.

Dick, thanks for the info. My prop is the same one that I installed on the engine when it was new (Wood Comp Klassic 160/3/R) 63” three blade. I know the prop is not the problem. I will check the “P” Leads for proper grounding.
