I use a orange silicone O-ring in place of the outer crush washers. 13.5mm if I remember. Has been working fine but be sure the durometer rating of the material is not too soft and the temp rating is at least 350 degrees F.

Also use the chamfered rod tool to keep them pesky bearings from getting out.

Just wait until you have to pull all 18 of those buggers to r&r the cylinders. Got some tricks for chasing down those pesky 56 roller bearings when they escape. Just work over a drop cloth and have a good magnet near by because some will get away. Make sure you plug the valve guide hole if you are going to pull the rocker assembly. They will get away on some occasion. Best to make sure their walk about is a short distance and not down some deep dark tube that you are going to have to pull to trap the wandering bugger with a magnet off the top of the tappet. Now the tappet assembly is an interesting little affair all to itself. It too can take a walk about. Grease works wonders in helping those little buggers behave.
