I suppose that may be partly determined by which oil you use, synthetic has better lube properties, but runs off and leave bear metal exposed to the elements, I would fog,

mineral oil coats better and better prevents against corrosion,

I try and fly once or twice a month in the winter, and I use a durablend oil. and I try and get the best of both worlds. better lube and better corrosion prevention. I have over 700 hours on my 912, and still get 80 over 80 on a compression test.

700 hours ...That's impressive !

I start mine every week, just to hear it run, when I'm here. It always starts on the first pull now, thanks to your advice.
