Have you ever wondered why American General changed the way the covers are arranged?
On the AA5x series, the covers are arranged so that only two screws are into the wind.
On the AG5B, there are three screws into the wind. More drag.

That is curious.
I've been installing flush screws on my AG5B inspection covers. Only got 2 done so far. Have to drill out the nut plates, dimple the rivet and screw holes in the wing skin and install countersunk nutplates. Makes for a smooth skin that's easier to wax.....
What's with the countersunk tinnerman washers? I don't remember those on my '76 AA5x's

I use the Tinnerman's because I've seen several that were torn through. It just protects the cover from damage.
