This is how I mounted mine. This is one for the back but the fronts are essentially the same and essentially use the stock mounting bolt. In a crash, I don't think the bolt gets pulled down through the roof but rather dragged radially through the cabin top.

The greenish part is a simple section of .063 steel tube.
