I would guess a 912 powered Drifter but I tend to see Drifters whenever any light plane crashes.
Note! the attachment. I was at 20007 Monument Valley standing way off the runway when this pilot lost control of this Drifter. When I lowered the camera I felt like the pilot was saying ramming speed get that Kolb guy. I thought I hit the ground just before getting hit but Larry C had a video that showed me ducking after the Drifter somehow missed me.

It sounds to me as though you might have developed a phobia over such a terrifying incident. You were lucky in that your acquaintance with the guy was only momentary. I had to fly back to Oregon with him. I still have flashbacks.

Rick,
what an interesting pic. He has the stick hard over with what appears to be full application of aileron yet has no detectable rudder input. Hmmm?

Look at the second photo. There is a tail of some sort and on one side there is what looks like both wings on top of each other with what looks like control surfaces.

Ha no kidding, I didn't have my reading glasses on and thought all of that crap was just more furniture on the lawn, was looking for the washing machine and old stove.

Crash Site ! ... Don't know if the plane was involved in a crash. I believe it more likely was just a victim of a common garden variety Hurricane.
A local native girl was asked about it , but she responded only with sign language.

Crashed or just abandoned...it is a Drifter...no mistaking it.

I wasn't reading this thread, so might be repeating what others have said.
It looks like someone put together Drifter parts and did a lot of modifications. The windshield is a lot higher than a Drifter windshield, and the instrument panel/pod is significantly different. It seems to have flaps - a modification that Phil Lockwood sells. I don't see the fuselage pan behind the gas tank - but that might be because of the high grass. Yet it looks as though it ends right at or beneath the gas tank - unlike the single seat Drifter. The molded seat certainly looks familiar - exactly the same as mine. And I'm puzzled by the location of the angled downtubes - it may just be the camera angle, but they look as though they're in front of the seat - unlike my single seat Drifter, which has the same shaped downtubes behind the seat. And yet it doesn't look as though there's room for another seat in front of the pictured one. The keel arrangement looks like the one on my Drifter.
So my guess is that it's parts from a Drifter, with perhaps parts from other planes, and a lot of mods.
