I am looking for some parts for my 55M, any guidance would be appreciated
1. Gear extenders
2. My wing tank fuel gauge windows are becoming "foggy" from too much sun. Wanted to see if I can replace the plexiglass, if not I will need new gauges.
3. sighting device
Thanks,
Anthony.

Anthony,
Most automotive stores carry products that remove the glazing / hazing from car headlights. I'm guessing this might also work on a "foggy" instrument face...? Would be an easy / cheap fix!

Along the same thought, I was watching Larry the Cable Guy visit a used car dealer in NJ and they used toothpaste to clean up the hazed headlights, didn't mention what brand thoughBill Wade

Bill,
Reading your post made me smile as I have been doing just that (using Toothpaste, any brand) to get the clarity and shine back to my cars’ headlights – worked great! After all, the toothpaste is designed to do the exact same thing to our teeth…
I’m not sure this will work on gage glass discoloration but worth a try…

Anthony,
Try the toothpaste or any other polish trick and see if it works, it does a great job in a lot of cases.
If you're still stuck after that, contact me off list.

I have used FLITZ in the tube. Worked great! Available in a paste or
liquid. www.flitz.com.

Years ago I had a attitude indicator which was yellowed on the face. I soon discovered that the yellow was on the inside surface of the glass. I very carefully removed the face and applied paint thinner, did not touch it, next tried lacquer thinner, no joy, next I moved to the macho stuff.....MEK! did not even soften it up, the yellow was stuck like glue, so in a last ditch effort I applied some paint remover, but still the yellow was there. So defeated I proceeded to the shop sink to wash off the paint remover with water.......ya you guessed it, the yellow stuff is water soluble. Thought I'd post this just in case you discover the problem is in fact on the inside of the glass.

Thanks guys, I will try toothpaste to see how it goes. My fear is the discoloration is on the inside of the glass, but it is going in for paint next week so I guess will ask to put "toothpaste cleaning of tank gauges" on the work order
Still interested in gear extenders and a sighting device if anyone can help with that.
Thanks for the replies.
Anthony.
