The Joker must have had a hand in that Cracked Joke!
How could a piece of steel/brass/bronze crack like that?
And what are the Rivnuts for?

Yes Cliff, the bushings are shot also. Quite a bit of play in the assembly. The rivets on the nose wheel fairing are failing also. I had never seen a fractured thrust washer before either. Can you believe it? I didn't think it was possible.
There was also a lot of oil/rust in there too. Been awhile since this was lubed.

That was not caused by lack of maintenance (dirt, lack of grease, etc.)
It was probably really hit hard on the nose gear (impact load). Sever
nose wheel shimmy will loosen all the rivets in the mounting bracket.
Better check the torque tube bond joints. Bounce it up and down on the
nose gear.
