There was a recent discussion on the GG on cockpit lighting. Here is my response
I'll chime in here also.
Several yrs ago while attending an AOPA Summit in Tampa, one of the seminars was on cockpit lighting and visual acuity. Since many pilots have some sort of visual issues at one time or another in their lifetime, I wanted to learn more as my eyes age. The instructor was a pilot/eye physician. We went thru different color based scenarios in a darkened room. The end result, from what I remember, is that most of the pilots in the room choose the green lighting...followed by the blue. Red was the least color chosen, and I dont recall why the doc didnt recommend it, only as a last resort.
So if I was to choose the eyebrow lighting, it would be green.
That would be a great seminar topic at AYA OSH if the doc who presented at AOPA can be found.
