I am sure that some of you have called this week and have had to leave a message for us to call back.

Sorry for the inconvenience but Mark, Pete, and I have been very busy with the FAA. 

Back in January the main office in DC had contacted us about the possibility to conduct a prototype Audit. 

The Audit is to verify Compliance to all ASTM standards for the SLSA process. 

The FAA is exploring the possibility of their entity doing mandated audits of SLSA facilities like ours.  

Keep in mind there is no such requirement now except for a Self-audit, and the FAA wanted to practice test their prototype process.

We invited them to come down and have a look at our documents and facility. 

 

The picture above Is from yesterday’s activities. We are half way thru our final day today. Its been a long week we have been at it since Tuesday from 8-5 every day.

 

Short story is the process was an enjoyable one, provided much education and insight. 

 

Look for a full write up of our experience in a next newsletter. 

 

We will be returning calls and back to normal business tomorrow.

That is great news, Nick, another chance for the Arion team and the  Lightning SLSA to excel and show the feds what a super airplane and great  operation you guys have.  I'm sure they will be impressed.  Be sure to  offer them some demo flights.  If they have flown any other light sport  aircraft, the Lightning will convince them they have now flown the best.

   That's so great to invite the FAA to your facility.  I'm sure both sides learned alot about the process.  I just love the fact you have nothing to hide and are always looking to better the product, facilities and team...
