I would not be concerned about a manual/external reset. The system
should self correct for the inevitable glitches or power anomalies. If
this chip has a watchdog timer or equivalent I would probably use it.
ie the chip does a Reset every xx seconds unless the main software
routine sets a bit before xx seconds to indicate that it is operating
normally. On some chips that might also cover for brown out/power on
resets but I've never used a PIC.

Bob,
I had a question on which of the reset options should be set up
for the PIC12F683 on the wig-wag project besides the Power
On Reset. Looking at the PIC12F683 document it wasn't obvious
to me which options to enable...
Should the Brown Out Reset and the Power On Timer
functions be enabled for the chip?
Also, did you want the external reset line (MCLR) to be enabled?
I will set up the Configuration Bits as needed...

I had not planned to activate the Watchdog Timer but it would be
easy to enable it. Might be good to have it in place for future
applications. My goal for the initial wig-wag code was to make
it as simple as possible as a starting point for future development.
However, adding the Watchdog is probably a good choice. In fact,
I had considered leaving out the switch de-bounce logic since it
probably is not needed for the wig-wag with toggle switches but
it will be needed for the future so I included a de-bounce function.
Watchdog fits into the same plan of not needed now but a useful
addition to support added functionality...
