Just bought a 52, and learned one can't fly it without a screwdriver !

Found this wallet-insertable model and tried it on cowl, air induction port, gas tank caps, etc., and it works fine.

http://www.drillspot.com/products/135154/Westward_5MW45_Pocket_Screwdriver

If the link doesn't work, just Google "Drillspot" (the company) and search for item # 5MW45

Enjoying the forum !

Alex

Swiss Army knife lodged in the tail cone does a lot of things ! : )

I was thinking about FOD AND the need for a screwdriver to carry with you on trips away from the homebase screwdriver.

I agree with Doc. If you keep the Swiss Army Knife in one of your
zippered flight suit pockets, should not be a problem. Plus the Swiss
Army knife can be a real asset if you have an emergency and egress the
airplane. Like maybe cutting the parachute shrouds etc?

True..true.. Another reason for flying in clothing in which the pockets are sealed by a zipper. Emptying ALL of the contents from the pockets before engaging in acro also helps.
About to come out with a survival vest with zipper pockets and Velcro pouches just for stuff like that for those that do not want to fly in a flight suit. It will have this really cool powder sewn into the collar and breast pouches that when wet will give off an endothermic reaction the stays cool for up to three days and completely regenerates/ reconstituted itself. Welcome relief to cool the neck and chest to lower core temperature on those hot days in the pit.
It is being used in the Stans now by the troops as we speak.

Instead of $2.94 (plus + “3 Business Day Shipping $6.01”?) for the screwdriver, why not just pick one up at the local Sears & Roebuck for 89 cents?

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00904160000P?prdNo=8&blockNo=133&blockType=G133

It was priced at 99 cents, but they have it on sale now.

I was suggesting the idea, more than the source. The Sears nearest to me is in San Antonio, 120 miles away !
