A quarter (shilling) works well for fuel caps on a YAK.

But the owning a CJ/YAK one should follow the old Triumph car creed, "Bring
your tools".

Too right, Duncan.... that was my point. Don't know if a shilling or similar would open the cowl, though... which was why I looked for something more resembling a "turnscrew," I believe the English call it.

How much is a shilling ? A lot of farthings ? Never could follow that !

Cheers,

Alex

A Shilling was 12 Old Pence when 240 Old Pence made up £1.00. For the
mathematicians amongst you there were thus 20 Shillings in every £1.00.....
As there were 4 Farthings to each Old Penny there were 960 Farthings to each
£1.00 and to everybody's relief Farthings were withdrawn from UK circulation
in 1960. Decimalisation was well over due by then but we had to wait another
12 years for it !

The last time I handled one was when we as kids placed them on the railway
line to see how big we could get them rolled ............
