For many years the Gloucester Strut has flown
scouts at Croft Farm, Defford, (10 miles or so N of
Gloucester), as part of their aviation weekend camp. The
scouts camp over the Friday and Saturday nights cooking
for themselves (+ volunteer instructors & pilots) having
tuition in various aspects of flying and then get a free
flight of 20-30 mins following a prepared course for which
they have already worked out the navigation. This year the
flying will take place on Saturday 15th September, weather
willing, starting with briefing at 10.00am and finishing
in mid afternoon.
For one reason or another we find ourselves a
bit short of pilots this year able to provide the flying
and I am hoping that some of the UK Europa community will
feel able to help us out. I have always found it immensely
rewarding to share my love of flying with a succession of
enthusiastic youngsters, for whom this is always a
fantastic experience, and I also see this as one way to
inspire the next generation of pilots. Currency
requirements for the event are set out in the attached
form. If any of you feels able to help please contact me.
