This leads me to believe that there is
virtually no Commander that couldn't safely get in and out of here. Even an 685
would be able to, I think.

The rule of thumb for the AC-685 at sea level on a dry, level, paved runway is that if you're at the end of the runway and you can see the other end it's not long enough. That's a quote from Morris Kernick and it's true.Wing Commander Gordon

GREAT STUFF....I have been to J.C. many times in my other Commander, a 560A, N2649B. I even flew AG from there. A good farmer and friend bought the old Cox dude ranch years ago. It was about a hundred Acers I think. Anyway he wanted it fertilized so I provided a 450 B model Ag-Cat and a loading truck. He provided the fert and a shovel. he and his son hand shoveled a ton of fert into the bucket for ever load. They would just be finishing the load when I pulled up, but I never had to wait!! We loaded at the south end and I took off north, turning 180 in the canyon.  The first couple passes were really close as the canyon gets pretty narrow to the south, but got it all done! There used to be a strip at Yellow Pine right in town, but it has now grown over. I have also been to several other Idaho "back county " strips with the Commander. I have been to Idaho City, Garden Valley, Stanley and several others. Great stuff Adam. jb

Good Afternoon jb,

You said: "There used to be a strip at Yellow Pine right in town, but it has now grown over."

Is that not where the golf course now lies?

Happy Skies,

Old Bob

Thanks JimBob!

Here we are taking off one evening from Johnson Creek. Someone filmed it and thankfully sent me a link.
