Philip,
I'm sure you know that the O-540 is WAY heavier than the 801 was designed
for. Does ZAC have any recommendations or cautions for going with this
engine? The CH801 is only going to go about a hundred or 110 mph, no matter
how much power you have, maybe consider trading the 540 for an O-360. I
have an O-320 in mine, and it could use more power for climbing when heavy,
although heavy takeoffs are no problem. I have flown in a 360 powered 801
and it is not much faster than mine, although it does climb better when
loaded.
In my opinion, the 360 is really the ideal engine for this design.

Subject: Lycoming O-540 Engine Mount For 801 - Info
needed......
From: "Condon, Philip M." <pcondon(at)mitre.org>
Can anyone supply any info on a engine mount for the 801 and a Lycoming
O-540 ? I own the engine, hence the search for a mount. Can a Zenith
O-360 mount be used on the O-540 ? Will accessories clear ? Is there a
shop that supplies this other then the Factory? I searched the
archives and found only Travis's web site.....
Thanks
